Rachel Huxley Associate Professor Rachel Huxley is the Director of the Nutrition and Lifestyle Division and a Conjoint Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney. She was awarded an MA in Physiological Sciences in 1999, and her Doctorate in Epidemiology and Public Health Medicine in 2001, both from Oxford University.

Associate Professor Huxley’s research activities focus on the role of lifestyle determinants of chronic disease and injury, with particular emphasis on lower- and middle-income countries. She has wide experience in the conduct of meta-analyses of observational studies and is responsible for two large collaborations of prospective cohort studies, the Asia Pacific Cohort Studies Collaboration and the Obesity in Asia Collaboration. Associate Professor Huxley lectures on the University of Sydney’s Masters in International Public Health program and supervises several doctoral candidates. Associate Professor Huxley has published widely in journals including The Lancet, JAMA, BMJ, Stroke and Journal of Hypertension, and is regularly invited to speak at international meetings.
