Sophia Ostler read Politics at the University of Edinburgh and is currently studying for an MSc in Development Management at the London School of Economics. At university she was assistant-director for the WHO committee at the Harvard World Model UN Conference in 2005 and interned in the Public Policy office at UNICEF Latin American regional headquarters in Panama and in the Colombian National office of Plan International, a child-focused development NGO. She has worked as a research and administrative assistant in the UK Parliament for the former Liberal Democrat shadow Health Secretary, Dr Evan Harris MP and for Maggie Pearlstine Associates, a UK-based literary agency. Sophia joined the HPD in September 2007.
