Prediction of chronicity following whiplash injury
Aims
This study tests a model of acute whiplash disorder that predicts those at risk of poor outcome.
Method
In this prospective cohort study two hundred patients with neck pain following a motor vehicle accident will be assessed on physical, neurological, sensory and psychological dimensions within 4 weeks of the accident and again after 3 months. Participants will be followed up at 6 and 12 months to track their recovery.
Current Status
Recruitment was completed in September 2009.
