Alexandra Illmer

Alexandra has been a member of the HPD team in London since March 2009. After completing a degree in Political Science at the University of Salzburg (Austria) she worked as an EU Liaison and Research Officer at the European Health Forum Gastein. She then went on to pursue an MSc in Development Studies at the London School of Economics where she focused her work on HIV/AIDS and health systems in Sub-Saharan Africa. After completing her degree, Alexandra stayed at the London School of Economics as a research assistant for a World Bank funded survey project on budget systems in developing countries. She also provided research consultancy services on health and social policy related projects to the Overseas Development Institute and Save the Children. Before joining the HPD, Alexandra worked in Monitoring and Evaluation with the UNAIDS country office in Cambodia.
