Abbreviations - ACE-I, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor-based regimen; CA, calcium antagonist-based regimen;
D/BB, diuretic- or beta-blocker-based regimen; mmHg, millimetres of mercury; 95%CI, 95% confidence intervals.
1. Overall mean blood pressure difference (systolic/diastolic) during follow-up in the group assigned the first-listed treatment
compared to the group assigned the second-listed treatment, calculated by weighting the difference observed in each
contributing trial by the number of individuals in the trial. The positive values indicate a higher mean follow-up blood
pressure in the first-listed treatment group compared to the second-listed treatment group.
