Indigenous health access is a theme for studies such as IMPAKT

The primary mission of The George Institute for International Health is to improve global health through undertaking high quality research, and applying this research to health policy and practice.

The Institute seeks to discover modifiable causes of non-communicable diseases and injuries, to identify effective and affordable prevention and treatment strategies, and to strengthen health systems for disease and injury control through:

  • Large-scale clinical, epidemiological and health services research projects
  • Evidence-based health policy development, implementation and evaluation
  • Capacity-building in epidemiology, clinical research, biostatistics and policy development
  • Partnerships with health authorities, academic institutions, governments, non-governmental organisations and multi-lateral agencies.

The George Institute for International Health has over 250 staff working on projects in over 40 countries with the collaboration of more than 400 hospitals and universities worldwide.
