Mission Statement
Indigenous health access is a theme for studies such as IMPAKT
The Institute seeks to discover modifiable causes of non-communicable diseases and injuries, to identify effective and affordable prevention and treatment strategies, and to strengthen health systems for disease and injury control through:
- Large-scale clinical, epidemiological and health services research projects
- Evidence-based health policy development, implementation and evaluation
- Capacity-building in epidemiology, clinical research, biostatistics and policy development
- Partnerships with health authorities, academic institutions, governments, non-governmental organisations and multi-lateral agencies.
The George Institute for International Health has over 250 staff working on projects in over 40 countries with the collaboration of more than 400 hospitals and universities worldwide.
