Bruce Neal - Senior Director, Research and Development

Bruce Neal is a Senior Director at The George Institute for International Health, Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney and Chair of the Australian Division of World Action on Salt and Health. Bruce completed his medical training at Bristol University in the UK in 1990 and spent four years in clinical posts. Prior to taking up his position at the Institute in 1999, he spent four years working as an epidemiologist at the Clinical Trials Research Unit in Auckland, New Zealand, where he completed his PhD in Medicine. Bruce directs a major program of research at the Institute and is supported in his work by a Program Grant from the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia. Bruce is a Fellow of the UK Royal College of Physicians and the American Heart Association. He is also a member of the Executive Council of the High Blood Pressure Research Council of Australia and the council of the International Society of Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention.
