Aim of the LEGS Study

The Long-term Evaluation of Glucosamine Sulphate (LEGS) study aims to determine if glucosamine sulphate and/or chondroitin dietary supplements widely purchased in Australia - can provide pain relief, improve function and limit or reduce cartilage loss for people with osteoarthritis.

Participation in the Study

This study requires a total of 600 people with chronic knee pain due to osteoarthritis. Participants will be recruited from general practices where travel to Sydney for annual assessments over two years is feasible. Recruitment should be completed in July 2009.
